At Shields Professional Vehicles, we go beyond simple cleaning or repairs — we restore each pre-owned vehicle to its highest standard, ensuring it looks, drives, and functions like new. Our reconditioning process is a multi-phase, meticulous service that covers every aspect of a vehicle, from its mechanical systems to its exterior and interior finishes. We're committed to making sure every vehicle that leaves our shop is in optimal condition, ready to perform for years to come.
Our skilled team of ASE-certified technicians, body specialists, and detail experts work together to address every detail, whether it's fixing mechanical issues, repairing dents, or reupholstering worn interiors. We understand that these vehicles serve an important role in the funeral industry, so we make sure that the final result reflects the professionalism, reliability, and care that our clients expect. The result is a vehicle that's not only visually stunning but operates at peak performance — delivering peace of mind and long-lasting value.
Our Reconditioning Process
From initial assessment to mechanical service, bodywork, paint, interior restoration, buffing, and final inspection — each step in our process is designed to bring every vehicle back to like-new condition, both in appearance and performance.

Initial Review
Every reconditioning process begins with a thorough walkaround and evaluation by our trained team. We carefully inspect the vehicle's exterior and interior, noting cosmetic imperfections, mechanical concerns, and any coach-specific damage that needs attention. Using this assessment, we develop a reconditioning plan and estimate that guides the work ahead — ensuring nothing is overlooked and the vehicle is restored to like-new condition.

Mechanical Inspection & Service
Each vehicle begins with a full mechanical inspection by our ASE-certified technicians. We assess, service, and repair key systems including the engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, and electrical components. Any worn or unreliable parts are replaced to meet our strict operational standards. This foundational step ensures the vehicle runs smoothly and safely from the moment it leaves our facility.

Exterior Restoration
Once the assessment is complete and parts or materials are prepped, our technicians move on to exterior repairs. This may include dent removal, panel replacement, trim realignment, and addressing corrosion or aging paint. Our team works with precision to restore the vehicle's body to its original lines and contours, ensuring the final result looks as fresh as it performs.

Interior Reconditioning
We deep clean and restore the interior of every vehicle, focusing on flooring, upholstery, trim panels, and all compartments. Any torn, worn, or stained materials are repaired or replaced. Special attention is given to rear compartment presentation — including carpeting, rollers, and trim — to reflect the respect and dignity expected in funeral service.

Paint Refinishing
Every vehicle we recondition goes through our state-of-the-art, factory-grade paint booth, built to deliver a flawless and consistent finish. Whether we're repainting entire panels or performing precision touch-ups, our controlled environment ensures optimal color matching, dust-free application, and long-lasting durability. This isn't your average body shop paint bay — it's a professional-grade system designed to restore vehicles to their original showroom look, inside a facility that reflects the same high standards we hold for every car we sell.

Final Buffing & Detailing
After paintwork, each vehicle moves to our buffing bay for final polishing. We use a multi-step buffing process to restore a high-gloss finish and remove imperfections like swirl marks or minor scratches. This stage is where the vehicle's visual presence truly shines — finished with care and attention to every detail.
